Are you confused yet about whether it’s safe to get the H1N1 Vaccine? You are not alone. I decided to do some research on the subject to give you some helpful info, but the more I researched, the more confused I was. So I found the best info on both sides and now you can make an educated decision – or at least be intelligently confused.
I’ll tell you up front that I’m a non-vaccine-type person, but my husband is the opposite and gets them all. Neither one of us has ever had any of the serious illnesses that we were or weren’t vaccinated against. That really helps, doesn’t it?
My grandson recently was in the ICU in one of the best children’s hospitals in the nation for 5 days and I asked – -what I considered one of the better- – nurses what her take was on the H1N1 vaccine. She was NOT happy that the hospital that employed her was mandating the vaccine, but was taking measures that her daughter, who attends public school, would not have to take it. Her reason? Lack of testing of the vaccine after being developed in a rushed manner simply to get it to market “in time”. It’s even been said that the company that developed it wouldn’t release it until they were legally released from any and all liability. . . -it’s one of those tidbits that we’ll probably never know for sure if it’s really true.
Reasons NOT To Vaccinate:
So, here’s some meaty articles from Mercola.com, an alternative health site that holds a great deal of credibility in many circles. They present their information backed up with facts, figures, charts and references. I like that, and figured you would, too.

A credible source (I think) for the other side, would be Consumer Reports Health. Now, one might argue they have a responsibility to support the CDC’s position, but they also have a responsibility to their reader’s trust. They do give the statistics for those that are most apprehensive of the vaccine, but generally encourage you to consider the vaccine especially if you are in a high risk group. Read it for yourself at:

Ironically, the blog that was posted TODAY by Consumer Reports Health is the one that you should read last…and hopefully is well researched like most of Consumer Reports’ information usually is. So, whatever your decision is, just make it an informed one.

Wow, there is so much out there not to get this vaccine and not much to prove you should. My child gets weekly infusions at the hospital and I am more afraid of giving him the vaccine than I am of exposing him at the hospital. Thanks for the good articles … definately gives good food for thought!
Thanks for the info. It is very confusing.
