Find Real Writing Jobs

wahm1My husband relates often the memory of how their family afforded Christmas. He comes from what was in those days considered a large family (5 children). Although they lacked for nothing, they watched every penny and operated on a tight budget. So when Christmas came around, his mom would always get a part-time job at a local store and whatever money she made went for Christmas gifts. Sound familiar?

If you’re thinking about working a part-time job this year to afford Christmas presents, or just need some extra work (!?!) the internet offers more opportunities than ever for making a little extra. The main advantage of working online is the flexible schedule. Considering many retail stores don’t hire PT help anymore, if they do you may be required to work ON the holiday-which is not an option when you have kids. I like the luxury of working whatever time I can squeeze out of the day, be it 4 am or 11 pm, and many moms use the infamous naptime! Online freelance work really is a good fit for the SAHM.

If you can write, some great places to find writing and other online WAH jobs are at GenuineJobs.com. I still can’t believe the great list of authentic work at home jobs they list with NO strings attached (free). The majority of jobs offered have to do with either writing or web design, but includes other, sometimes interesting, types of work. In fact, it’s where I stumbled on this great website where you can register your skills into a master database for writers called Writer’s Access. It’s free to list your writing services, and if you know SEO, it’s a HUGE plus. If you happen to need a writer, it’s also free to post a job.

Here’s two more places to look for freelance writing work that will definitely keep you busy the rest of the day:

21 Places To Find Freelance Writing Jobs – from Freelance Writing Gigs – an excellent website to find freelance work.

The Monster List of Freelance Sites - from the US to UK, it seems like a genuine list, and mentions if it’s a paid registration site.

santa letterOut of all the letters from Santa sites, how do you choose which one to trust with this year’s memory? I’m sure there are many other great Santa letter sites, but here at Momma’s Choice, we tend to trust moms that work at home. First of all, hopefully they are working hard to set a good work example for her kids, which we all know tend to absorb so much more just by watching us! Secondly, WAHM’s really do try harder, it’s just how we are.

That aside, we also checked her out online, and didn’t find one single negative report. Still growing after 13 years, she’s done so well, she now operates out of a separate building (still on her property). Including a coloring page and stickers with an adorable personal letter, Shannon also offers some really cute gift ideas to go along with the letter.

Some of the reviews:

The Internet Patrol reviewed a half dozen or more and cited SantaLetters4Kids their favorite.

The Classy Mommy classified them as a “Hot Find”

The Women’s Forum and The Mommy’s Playbook Forum both included SantaLetters4Kids in a (short) list of favorite Santa letter site (and mentioning how much their children loved them!)

Prices start at $8, and you can save 20% until Dec 4th on orders over $10 with the coupon code: 20PERCENT.
